I thought we could post all of our dyed eggs pics here in one huge posting.

Here is a pic of my first pysanka.  My fiance is polish so I borrowed his mum's wax and kitska and bought some dyes from a Ukranian store and here is the result.  I plan on making some more in the up coming week!

Very pretty. I like how brilliant the colors are and how defined the design with them is.

Anyone?  Anyone?  Bueller?  Where are all the pysanky photos!  Here are just two.  More later, if my camera cooperates.

We save our eggs every year, and display them in a wire tree:

While I often do traditional designs, I find them frustrating because my hand shakes and the lines get squiggly. So sometimes I like to free form on the egg.  This is an egg based on a Michael Hague illustration for the Wizard of Oz.  It shows the Emerald City, and a bit of the yellow brick road on the bottom.

We are a bit slow to do pysanky this year, but we'll get going next week (yeah, after Easter, but that's what happens sometimes!)

I want to try this so bad! Is there any way you can reuse the dyes or conserve them in any way? So that way you can do more eggs over a period of time?

I have saved dyes from year to year in glass jars with very tight sealable lids. I did find that some of the colors were more prone to developing mold in them (yellow was especially moldy).  While I do try to save all the dyes, in the end there are always several colors I just have to remake every year

That egg is fantastic. And thanks for making a thread for dyed eggs.

Here's mine:
