Thanx. I was afraid that it wouldn't fit or turn out. An important step if you are afraid you will mess up is to Make a sample one out of cheap fabric, then alter pattern as needed, then go to the actual fabric.
The pattern I made was made following an extremely easy how to using only 3 measurments. Here is the link to the coat pattern drafting: http://vintagesewing.info/1940s/4x-lgcm/lgcm-toc-long.html. They are fairly easy to draft.

I say dive in, coats are so much fun to make. Possibilities are endless with designs.

The lipbalm pocket is my favorite feature of the coat, not as much hassle.

Thanx. I did sleep and eat,  Smiley The first day, I preped all the pieces that needed to be stitched together, by doing this first. Then I Pressed all the pieces I sewed. So on the third day all I had to do was stitch the belt in place, the pockets, the lining and add the buttons and buttonholes.

Awesome work! I really like the lining colour. And great job on making your own pattern, including the pocket... it looks great.

Wow, great job! It looks really nice, and I'm impressed that you drafted the pattern yourself. Keep up the good work!
