Well, I debated whether or not to post this, but you guys will be gentle with me, right?
This is my first real recon for my daughter. I started with a pretty aqua and brown women's sweater with a hole in one arm. I was going to pay 50 cents for it at my favorite thrift store. But when the lady saw the hole she gave it to me instead! Yay! Cheap is good, free is better! I failed to take any before pictures because, frankly, I figured it wouldn't turn out well. It was your typical tight fitting, thin cotton women's sweater.
And it became:

DD has decided that playing peekaboo is the best thing ever.

The hardest part was trying to keep the stripes lined up. Just sewing on that stretchy fabric sucked!
It's not perfect. The right sleeve keeps rolling up and the neck is a bit bigger than I had intended, but, all in all, I'm pleased. I can't wait to go thrifting for more sweaters of this type!
This is the first dress I have ever made for dd that looked presentable enought to leave the house in!

You pretty much kick forehead - how cool is this dress?  I wish I had one.  You did an awesome job with some pretty stinky material to sew with-- I hate stretchy fabrics!  She looks so cute in it.  Rock on momma!

I don't usually comment on the kids stuff ( my baby is 17 ) but this is so darn cute. Put some cute tights on her and some bright shoes and shes a little fashionista.
