I don't know how I'll make my cookbook yet. Maybe I'll try to make a book myself, maybe I'll buy a journal. We'll se what comes on my path  Smiley

Thanks everybody for posting ideas on what kind of book will be made.
I am trying to challenge myself to do something new and unexpected, so I hope my partner will be proud with the end result.  I agree that in the end we should post one of the recipes that we give or receive! happy crafting!

if you're going to alter an existing book, be sure and tear out some of the existing pages, because it will get thicker as you add in paint, glue, etc, and if you don't thin it out first, you're book will get way too thick.

i'm heading to barnes and noble and joanns tonight to look for fabric, books and supplies.  i have the perfect book at home to alter, I just remembered as I was reading thru posts.

If it doesn't ruin any surprises, can any of you tell me what you are using as your book? A blank journal? A binder?  Paper you've binded into book form? A scrapbook?

I'll be binding a book, most likely with chicago screws, but that's all I can tell.   Wink
I think sharing one recieved recipe in the gallery is a really good idea!

Well, I found the perfect solution the other night while searching for ideas. And, it's using neither of the previous options I had.

I'm going to use either ______ or ______ ________ to make a book by binding them with ________ _____. Then, I'm going to decorate accordingly and ___ the recipes _ __ _______. Smiley

And, I think the recipe sharing is an excellent idea!

Yeah, I definitely support recipe sharing!

I don't really have a lot of experience with paper crafts so I hope my dear partner won't mind my lack of book-making/modding/etc. skills - hopefully the tasty recipes and kitchen craft will compensate!
