pink umbilical cord hat and matching mittens

I had this tiny ball of beautiful pink and yellow wool yarn. I needed something small to knit so I decided to try out this this umbilical cort hat - found in my Stitch n' Bitch book - even though I don't have any baby to give it to. It turned out really cute, and I still had some yarn left so I made these little thumbless mittens to match (pattern found here http://knitlink.blogspot.com/2005/10/berry-blue-thumbless-mittens.html). Without a test subject, I'm not sure, they could be completely the wrong sizes    but oh well. I'm going to keep them for someday when I have a baby and then force it to wear them.
