Well, after 3 days of fighting with this project on and off, and now being totally unable to feel my fingertips from pulling the sculpting needle through her hair....I'm done with my first poppet. Well, she needs some clothes, but I'll start those later. This poppet is going to my niece on Sunday for her 2nd birthday, so I'm unsure what to name her...maybe Dali (for Dolly)? Couldn't wait to post this one. I may tweak her eyes a bit and try to make some lids, and I may pull off the flower petal...I'll see how it looks when I dress her. I was planning on making her a ballerina poppet, but I'm not feeling it since I put her together. Let me know what you guys think. This is my first try so any comments/criticism is appreciated!!!

UPDATE: After a concersation with my mom this morning, we have named this poppet "Breezy." This is mostly due to the fact that my niece will lift up her dress and see her butt and say "Oh, no!" Obviously, I could make her some undies, but I think the whole thing is a bit funny...

Oh my goodness, I have been working on a poppet for my niece all day and the main color is pink.  Great minds think alike I guess Smiley  Great work.  I like the petals around the eye.

I really like the petals around the eye. She's so pretty. I love the fabric you made her from. Ballerina? Maybe princess! For her name, I like Rosey Posey. I have some patterns for clothes that I can email you, when you're ready. Just pm me!

I think a ballerina would be fit her well. She seems poised and elegant. (at least while dancing. Wink )
make her a tutu and a little unitard and some cute little shoes. She'd be sooooo cute! I love her hair and face. I think the flowers look fine just add eyelids over top. You can always pin them on first to see if you like them. Smiley

I personally agree but she wanted to add some. I think taking the flower away will totally change her face.
Anyways I said that to say I personally like her without eyelids too!

She's cute!  Leave the flower!  Hmm, I think she would be happy in a cute denim jumper style dress.  Definitely with a little basket with flowers or a small cuddly puppy.  Beautiful job on your first poppet.

Thanks everyone. She was made with peach colored robe velour. I think I'm going to leave her eyes as is since everyone seems to think they look okay. I'm going to work on some clothes for her after work today, and ammend her dress to fit a little better. I'm soooo excited!!!

She's so pretty!  You did such a great job on her.

Usually unlidded poppet eyes look buggy and creepy to me, but Breezy's just look sweet and innocent.  ^_^  Makes me want to cuddle her.

And I love the way you did the ears.
