first project

so this is my first ever crochet project i joined the kint and crochet club at my school started by two of my friends and fellow craftsters stefferoo and superchloe and they said to start off on a scarf of course so i was like i don't want a boring scarf i'll get some variegated yarn but that was not a good idea because i got this

(sorry it's sideways)
one end was something like 18 stitches i think and when i finished it it was only like 12 orsomething 

The pattern also kept changing i dunno whether that was my fault, it probably was but it was annoying


comments and whatever are welcome i know it sucks and i probably won't wear it ever also i haven't weaved in the ends cause i was mad at it but i've started a new project and hopefully it will turn out better

I like it!

The good thing about scarves is that you can always wrap it and knot it till it looks perfectly fine.
It's better than my first project! We've got a long skinny not-quite-a-scarf dishcloth now.

For your first project, that looks really good!  my first scarf was something like this:

if that makes sense...it was much more wobbly than yours!

You often find variegated yarns turn out like that, so don't fret that it was your fault. I think you have done a smashing job on your first go  Keep it up, you'll soon be making loads of cool stuff.

I think it's a fantastic job for your first go around.  I stink at crochet, and my first thing turned out looking like a horrid yellow man-thong!  LOL

seriously, your guage was even and stuff.
and it totally isn't your fault about the yarn colours not cooperating.
it was under "newest projects from crochet category" and I was like hey! I know that scarf!

That's awesome to me. I have that same yarn and I made my godson an outfit for our b-day with it. Yep we share a b-day but I like your scarf.

Yeah, varigated yarns are hit or miss, but that is totally awesome for a first project.  I shudder to think how my first project went...the blanket I started sort of turned into a weird trapezoid, and I did maybe five inches on it!  Took me a good 16 years to try it again, so good on you for sticking with it!
