My daughter is turning 4 today and she requested a Mickey mouse cake.  I wanted to make a cake for school too so I did a Spongebob cupcake cake. Unfortunately the school can't have home made cakes but he still turned out good ( I think anyway)

Oh! Good job, I really am impressed by how uniform your stars are for Mickey.

Send me a cupcake!

P.S. What's up with no homemade cakes?

Those look really nice!

I would imagine no homemade cakes would have to do with allergies. A lot of schools won't allow for kids trading snacks anymore, etc.. for the same reason. It sucks, but in the end it's better to be safe than sorry, I think.

I know it sucks huh?! I remember my mom making cupcakes for my class for everything, but nope, not anymore.  You would think allergies, but I got the impression it's more of a hygiene "you don't know what they could have done to them" thing. Yeah I don't think they think much of the families around here, which ruins it for the good ones. But I know the kids saw Spongebob and liked him only to be fed a store bought over processed cake.

I wish I could send out some cupcakes! We still have some of Mickey left over too! haha

I know some of schools here are trying it too...also a way to level the playing field. Some of them actually spell out what can and cannot be brought in. Our friend's son has diabetes, so she's always tried to work with the teachers about snacks brought in and it has worked out great...but that's for an actual medical reason.

Maybe they're concerned you'll bake in tiny shivs for the kids to escape during the day Smiley

There are cupcakes under the spongebob, right? *tries to focus* Great idea, so everyone likes at least a part of the "cake". My friends are so picky, thats a great idea for satisfying them all! Thanks!
