So, let's see, about a year ago I got the fun job of cleaning out the storage room at my office.  Luckily, anything that we weren't keeping, I got to take home, paper, a paper cutter, random computer parts and this empty film canister.  I knew I wanted to make it into a clock but between waiting for clock parts at the arts & crafts store and all the other project it fell by the wayside.

The label was really easy to get off as it was really brittle and I just washed the whole thing with alcohol before putting on the modge podge. 

I settled on an image from the Charlie Chaplin movie, "Modern Times"  thinking it would be reminiscent of early hollywood (even though it is the Chaplin 'talkie') and a revelant bit of social commentary.
