my friends are in due to have their baby in 6 days! eee! couldn't contain my excitement so yesterday i made these:

muslin wrap with flannel trim, little hat and mittens:

we were talking about swaddling your baby and weren't sure how, so i looked it up and made them a guide:

just to show the size of the wrap:

first time sewing with muslin, it was quite easy, i only had one pull. the hat design i copied from rookiemums.com and the instructions i just got a gist of how to do my reading a little (i hope it's right!). it's so hot here at the moment so the wrap is only light. how cute is the flannel!!

ps just realised how messy my instructions look, i did it pretty quick, perhaps i'll re-write it.

oh, so sweet - my babies just loved to be swaddled.  It calms them down so much.

You do have to be careful not to overuse it tho --- don't really want "Mummy" babies  (sorry - just my goofy sense of humor and the subtle English difference between Mommy and Mummy that hit my brain being from the US.

I wish someone had put something that thoughtful together for me! It's great! Kudos on the instructions.

longtimegeek - mummy as in - in a tomb...that took me a while to get! hahaha! i'm from australia and "mommy" looks weird to me Wink

redhairedsunset - thankyou!

i can't wait to give it to the little one! we don't know whether it's a girl or a boy, that's why the colours are mutual.
