I was at work the other day and we had ran out of paper so I changed it out and was left with a long heavy cardboard tube.  All of a  sudden a light went off and I decided that I needed a new floor lamp and this was going to be the perfect base.  So I took 2 of them and duck taped them together and decoupaged over it with some random green paper I had laying around.  I then built a base out of 2x4's and drawer pulls for the feet.

Then I decoupaged the bottom and painted the feet.  I also added hemp along the edges to try and finish it off a little more.  I then found one of those paper balls I bought years ago at Ikea.  And volia and street lamp......

Feedback always welcome!

So, umm. I saw the little picture on the main board page, and I totally thought you had installed stripper pole.

Embarrassed Sometimes I wonder about my crazy little brain. . .

You lamp looks nice. Did you have to weight the base, or does it stand up by itself?

Okay, you're not the only one, because I was just coming here to post the exact same thing.  Wow, a crafted stripper pole, I wonder what they did to it...

But I digress, I'm digging the globe at the top.  I've been seeing a few lamps like that lately, and I might just have to go out an get one.

Yeah me too  Cheesy "oh sweet, a stripper pole!!"

The lamp is really neat. The green paper looks marble-y to me. Pretty and very creative!!

haha...i never thought of a stripper pole!  Adding to the do list...  The pieces of 2x4's is actually really heavy, so I'm not too afraid of it getting tipped (even with 2 crazy huskies and a 3 yr old)  Thanks for all the comments,  I'm really proud of it.

No I'd love to see how you would make one too.  Plus it was really cheap.  I got the lamp kit for $10 and the feet were $.50 each.  So I got a lamp I love for $12.  That's the biggest thing I'm excited for.  Make sure you post pictures if you make one!
