Those are beautiful! Do you have any formal training?

i took a couple of art classes when i was in elementary school, i took art in 7th grade, and i did my senior project (when i was 18) with my 7th grade art teacher because by that time i had realized i could draw portraits. i think that's where some of my insecurity comes from- i feel like i'm flying blind because i have no idea what to do other than what looks right to me. maybe it's genetic- my grandma, her sister, and my grandpa on one side are/were all professional artists, but i didn't get to see them much when i was growing up because they lived in different states- so they never got a chance to teach me.

I'm totally jealous of your skills! These are wonderful and I still can't believe they are drawings.  It thought they were photos until I read your post.

I love these portraits. but to me, what stands out more than their looking realistic (which they totally do- especially that second one. even knowing it was a drawing, my eye still says "photograph") is how beautifully they capture and evoke the emotion of the children. the expressiveness in their eyes is amazing, they look like they could step off the page and start talking to you. beautiful work.
