Sorry if this is in the wrong space but I recently got into making purses and handbags etc and as my partner is in Miami on business at the moment I wondered if anyone could recommend any sewing magazines/books etc for him to get for me.  He spends a lot of time in Borders there!

Thanks in advance and Hello!

I think Threads, Sew News, and Sew Simple are good ones.  I'm sure there are better ones, but those are the ones I look at when I go into bookstores.

Go to Borders.com or BarnesandNoble.com and shop online.  They are the two big book retailers in the US.  You can then send a list of books you want to your friend to look for.

Go to barnesandnoble.com or borders website and search sewing or sewing handbags.  Once the list comes up you can check to see if the books are available at the Miami Barnes and Noble.  It will ask for a zip code and put in 33138.  It will have a check mark on the location if they have it.  I really like the amy butler in stitches book and most of the books have reviews.
Good luck!

Thanks very much.

I got him to get me all 3 of the amy butler ones and sewing made simple and a couple of other books too.  Not so much luck with the magazines but the Borders in York often has US imports and im going there on MOnday so will look out for the mags there.
