Least favorite part of knitting..

Ok, I hate it when I have to rip back and reknit.  Seems like every time I do that the yarn is all funky, splits easily, breaks easily, and is just generally difficult to knit with. 

I also hate trying to find buttons for cardigans.  Boo I suck at that!

The one thing I hate about knitting is that my arms and shoulders get sore after knitting for a while.  Also, my fingers start to ache, but that's not as bad as my shoulder.  Ugh!  Any tips for me?

Are you using straights or circulars? I find that my shoulders and arms will ache when I use straights but not when I use circulars. Something about supporting the needles - you don't have to with circulars because you just have the one portion in your hand.

What kind of chair are you sitting in? I find that if I'm on the bus - no chair arms - if I put my purse in my lap to support my arms, I have less problems with aches.

Also, a pillow in the lap may help support your arms and your work.

dyeing yarn and having the colours become.... unpleasant, let's say, when knitted up.

also, i find it very fiddly and difficult to join my first round on dpn's. they're all... floppy. especially when it's one of those "CO 3" co's. sheesh. but it only takes half a second and i love KFB increases so it's all right in the end.

I hate knitting the first couple of rows on DPNs or after a backward loop cast on, I hate the provisional cast on to a degree that I have trouble expressing, I don't like stockinette unless it's in the round and finishing is just so darn unpleasant.

But everything else is magic : )

Ugh. That, or buying variegated yarn that looked good on the skein but look like ass when knitted up. Gah.
