My cousin is having her first baby shower, and being the crafty one in the family, I wanted to do something special.  I looked around at diaper cakes and diaper wreaths when I stumbled across a baby bouquet. After much searching I found how to make them, so here is my take at a baby bouquet.

I added 3 board books I found at Target.  She loves frogs, hence the ribbon and box decoration  Smiley

Basic tutorial:

a wooden box
plastic/silk leaves and small flowers
baby clothes (I used all white, 8 socks, 5 onesie's, 3 kimono style shirts)

I painted frogs, her favorite animal

and here's how it looks on the box-

The back and inside I painted the same color as the frogs.  Then I made my bouquet based off this tutorial:  http://www.marthastewart.com/article/baby-bunch-bouquet

Here's a onesie, a sock, and a shirt

and here's 14 flowers grouped into 9 bunches.

I cut an old shoe box to fit inside the box and poked 9 holes to hold the flowers.

Here's how it looks with all the flowers:

To hide the stems, I placed tissue paper around the inside, two sheets, one fluffed up, and one fluffed down.

There you go, hope you enjoy!  Cheesy

That's really splendid!  I'm bookmarking this, as it's way more my style than the diaper cake.  It would make a great centerpiece for a shower, too!

that looks so nice! I've seen the sock flowers before, but your take on it looks so great, I must file this idea away for the next baby gift I need  Grin

Thanks everyone  Smiley  This took a couple hours to make and is so cute, I'm sad to see it go, but I think this will be easier to ship than a diaper cake or wreath, so it's worth it  Tongue  If anyone makes one of these, post it! it's great to see different versions  Cheesy
