I have that problem times 10---I totally need to make curtains and afghans and all sorts of crap for my new house, but instead I make things for craftsters.  I've never been good at making things for myself, I love to make things for other people.

Plus, my house is totally like an art gallery!  after 50 swaps, I can point all over the place and tell people where stuff came from.  It makes us sound like world travellers.

I went to Anthropologie today to get some ideas for another swap, and they have a whole section set up like a farmers market!  There are cute little aprons in pretty fabrics, and all sorts of neat little stuff.
I love that store for inspiration, but its definately "look, but don't buy".

Oh my!  An Anthropologie farmer's market theme would be too much to resist!  It's a good thing that the nearest one is 2 hours away.  Really, though, I can image it in my head and it looks a lot like what I expect to see pretty soon in our gallery!

Yup!  Thats me!  I have the fabric to totally redo our bedroom.  I have a cushion I *need* to make so the dog stops tearing up our bay window.  I have rooms that need to be painted.  *sigh*  At least I gave up making the bridesmaid's dresses for an upcoming wedding LOL

^ our bathroom features half 80's wallpaper, half crumbling old plaster walls that need to be painted...but I sew with my freetime instead of fixing the bathroom Smiley

Ha ha ha!  I rent so I don't have to worry about *that* kind of guilt!

Tongue

I do have the guilt of "oops, I promised that friend a YEAR ago that I'd make him curtains and he even bought the fabric and gave it to me with measurements.....".   Heh.

And the guilt of "I should really concentrate on finding a job instead of embroidering pillowcases....".   La la la la.  Smiley

I am so tempted to join this swap! It's such a good idea~!
It's cool to hear how farmer's markets are different in other places!
I live near Berkeley where we have the best farmer's markets year round 3 times a week! I love living here! My favorite one is on Saturday mornings where I literally roll out of bed (just like you said!) and grab my knitting bag (which doubles as a market bag, hehe) and stroll around the farmer's market enjoying the sights, the sounds, and oh yes, the aromas~ It's a very chill and relaxing atmosphere and it's the best way to start my weekends. I've been meaning to make a market bag for myself but just haven't found the right pattern for one yet... wish I could garden but until I move out of this apt, I don't have a garden to grow things in, so sad...
Should I join? Aah! I don't know! I'll think about it over the weekend...  Grin

A farmer's market three times a week  Shocked  Shocked  Shocked

I only wish  Smiley

In the summer I can drive 20ish miles and be able to go more then once a week.  Otherwise, once a week is it!  The selection is nothing like that of the one in Berkley although the seleciton is much more varied then this time of year in July through October.
