Ok, firstly, I hope this is in the right spot, it's not really a craft, but it is vintage, so yeah.

I'm on a big sock monkey kick right now and I was over at my Grammas house tonight, and she gave a How to Make Sock Toys book. It's from 1958 and has LOTS of sock patterns, from the good old sock monkeys to bunnies to pigs to kids.

So I thought I'd go ahead and see if anyone would be interested in some of the patterns. I have access to a scanner, but for right now I've just taken some pictures with my webcam (Hence the backwardedness of the photos, sorry!) to give you an idea. If anyone wants I can also make a list of all the patterns tomorrow and then if you see something that interests you then I can scan that pattern.

Anyways, onto my backwards photos!

The cover:
(Apparently sock toys are perfect for not only bazaars, gifts and profits, but shut-ins like them too!)

Sock bunny:

Some sort of Hula Sock Girl:

Various sock people:

And of course, the sock monkey:

Sock Kangaroo and baby kangaroo, chimpmonk and begging dog:

Sorry everybody! I've been busy with work and didn't get a chance to upload the patterns this week. I'm hoping to do it tomorrow though.
I'll send out messages to those who requested patterns as soon as I get them up.

i've made a couple sock monkeys with some online tutorials. i like using the really cheap, cute printed socks from Wal-Mart. that sock hula girl looks like fun, though Smiley

I would also like a copy of any patterns you post. I just joined the community today, after looking around a few days.  Hope I did this right, LOL.

If the copyrights have expired on the patterns in this book, the best way to get the patterns to everyone (including me) would be to post a link to all the scanned patterns.  This would be a loit better than to have to send them to everyone individually.

If the copyrights have expired on the patterns in this book...

Published in 1958, it's more than 50 years old. Almost certainly the copyrights have expired.

Under the circumstances, I can't wait for the patterns to be posted.

I don't know if you got around to scanning these patterns, yet.  If you did, can you please post a link to the patterns (instead of sending them individually to everyone).  Thanks.
