That sounds like a fun idea.  I'm up near Scrapbook Central BTW.  Ideas for what to do?   Coffee and Crafting?  Wink

Have you stopped by CrackPots? Here's the web site: http://www.crackpotspottery.com/
I had a fun time the one time I went.  Painted a bowl and it turned out great.

Here's another store: Old Time Pottery just south of Forest Fair Mall.  Not a tipical craft store but has supplies, especially silk flowers.

I went to Crack Pots back in the fall with my coworker who loves that place.  I painted a trivet and it was fun, but when I paid my $30+ bill I thought about all the craft supplies I could have got for that money!

Yah, it is totally expensive.  If you happen to like Skips Bagel Deli on Montgomery Rd south of Fields-Ertel, their medium size to go bag has a coupon for half off the studio time at Crack Pots.  I go there everytime I get a coupon for bagels so in turn I have several coupons for studio time too.  Still not sure it is worth the money...

Maybe we can find out how many Cinci craftsters we have and get together for lunch and some crafting or  craft shopping.  OR make a cartrip to meet with other crafters in Columbus.  Thoguhts?

Thanks for the tip, I should go to skip's when I go to Ben and Jerry's.

I think we're the only 2 toward the 'burbs but I'd enjoy getting to together on a weekend for lunch or crafting, though I don't seem to do portable crafts like knitting.

I read that the Garden Ridge (eastgate) is going to be closing so I imagine at some point there will be a clearance sale so if anyone hears about this, please post!

If you're looking for a some unique craft stores, be sure to check out the Madeira area (its just south of Kenwood), there's at least 6 craft stores in a quarter mile radius of the downtown Madeira area on Miami Ave:
A Stitch Above - for needlepoint and cross-stitch
The Bead Shop - beads, jewelry making supplies
Creative Cottage - quilting & fabrics
Mad Potter - make your own pottery
Twisted Threads - needlepoint
Peach Mountain Studio - yarn shop
None of the stores are particularly inexpensive, but there's tons of inspiration and a lot of nice people willing to help.

Thanks, dicaxpuella.  BTW, welcome and great first post.  I'll have to check those out next time I'm near Kenwood.  Are you a Cinci person, too?  I'm north on the loop near West Chester.

Udandi, I'll ask around at work to see if I can find someone who drives past Garden Ridge often.  Have any of you heard if they are having the United Cerebal Palsy Chocolate Sunday at Eastgate Mall this year?  It was around now last year but I haven't heard anything.

I found a Feb 2, 2004 press release on the garden ridge web site saying it would close in 45 days.

I haven't heard anything about Chocolate Sunday and I didn't see anything about it on the web site Sad
