Here's the block I made for lukenlarry Smiley

It's my own design via paper piecing.  I call it contemporary offset pinwheel Smiley

She suggested we add our own matching fabrics; I added the blue center fabric from my stash of batik scraps.

I finished Audrey's block!  It was a challenge to think of a pattern with so many bright colors so I decided to go with a trusty log cabin block.  I made my own twist into a contemporary pattern.

I use Electric Quilter 5 to design all my blocks.  So much fun and useful!

It's just applique, but the applique happens to be one of the butterflies from the print.  I just cut it out with a small seam allowance, pinned it down, and worked my way around turning under the edges and taking little bitty stitches.  The antennae I added with a few chain stitches in blue embroidery floss.
