I hope you like the one I made for you Miss Disney Shocked  I shot for an abstract design with the black spin wheel as a control.  The mickeys were featured less than I should have Sad  I underestimated how much of the design would be lost in the seams.

I LOVE the block that you did for me!  That embrodiery is perfect and matches the design perfectly.  TOOO CUUUUTE!

These quilts are going to be amazing.

Goodness Gracious! These blocks are phenominal! You all are really inspirational.

I'm still so nervous about cutting into other people's fabric  Undecided

Wow!  Look at all the great blocks that have popped up in the last 24 hours.  I love the ones you did for me kiden2 and MissDisney!  They are going to look so awesome in a blanket!

athenamat: I really like the block you made for Miss Disney; it is very modern looking!  I also like the triangles for quilted.
Miss Disney:  athenamat's block is supercool with the embroidery in the middle

I just can't believe all the awesomeness that has appeared overnight!

Will there be another?

Indeed!  I had to turn a few people away for this swap Smiley  I am not sure when though.  I am guessing that people are going to be fatigued after this swap finishes and I spend May-July studying for the bar.  I MAY have time then.  But I assure you that I will host again as soon as I get the chance Tongue

I for one am having a BLAST in this swap Tongue

I was highly intimidated by this fabrics strong contrasts.  I researched scrap blocks for at least an hour before I settled on this pattern (with some changes of course).

http://happythings.typepad.com/happythings/2007/07/scrap-x-quilt--.html

I am sad that those triangles don't line up perfectly, I wasn't sure how to fix it once it showed up in the piecing.  It's my "humility" piece ;P  I also had very little fabric left since she sent 6" squares I worked off those.

REMEMBER, you don't have to do a different block for each person.  I have been doing it because certain fabrics speak to me in different ways and I like the challenge, but feel free to choose on design and stick with it across fabrics.

**edited**
and i LOVE the block btw...it looks very organic and i think it would look lovely in a scrappy quilt

At first I was scared of the velvet but the strechiness was nice.  This is the Missouri Windmills block and I did it in paper piecing.
