Alrighty then Smiley

I'm going to finish it off with a 2" strip of a brown floral that's about the same tone as the blue/brown floral, and then a 6" band of the red that's used throughout, but here's the current state of affairs:

Wow I love it!!!  This is just as beautiful as I imagined it would be!  The red border is a great idea too.  Are you going to machine quilt?  I think machine quilting is not too hard! Have fun and keep us updated!!

I'm looking to send my Step-Sister's Choice quilt to a new home.  If you're interested in swapping for fabric/scrapbooking supplies, send me a PM.

Yes - I'll definitely be machine quilting!  I need to find a quilting foot for my machine first though.  Last time I looked at the fabric store, they were out.

I just realized that if you peer into the backdrop of the picture, the window seat is upholstered in the green/yellow leopard fabric that's used in the quilt.  That seat cushion is what I originally bought the fabric for.

Actually, you can probably see how the quilt ties into the whole room.  The walls are the green and yellow, the trim is brick red, and then there are some smaller blue and brown things in the room that you can't see from this shot.

I added the borders this weekend, thanks in no small part to our conversation here.  I was nervous about my first attempt at mitering, but all my miters came out awesome.

I'll try to remember to get a pic of the finished quilt top in the next few days, though if the weather would cool down, I might actually get motivated enough to finish it into a real live actual quilt sooner than later.

I really like the block in the middle of the second row from the top.  Who did that one?

Heh, Grieney, when I first read your post I assumed that you were joking, and whichever block you'd pointed out was your own.  Tongue  Then I went and looked.  The middle of the second row is the one I did for myself.  It's Caned Seat from Quilters Cache.

Nope! It was actually a serious question.  Cheesy  Mine is the middle of the bottom row. Not as spiffy as yours.
