Well... not tacks per se.  Tiny office art, if you will.

I am from Superior, Wisconsin, but have always lived near the shore of Lake Superior.  Some photos taken at a nearby tourist trap:

What I really wanted to do was a Lake Superior Zen Garden.  But since it is the middle of winter in Wisconsin, pickins are slim when it comes to beach combing.   So I used what I had and made some tiny collages.

With the exception of the solder and wire (and tacks), everything was found at the lake.  So the busted beer bottles and bottle caps are a testament to the pollution, as well as the fact that (rumor has it) Superior has the most bars per capita of anywhere in the United States.  I have no resources to back up that claim, except my share of hangovers.

Disclaimer:  It is bad bad bad to steal from Lake Superior.  Don't do it. Feel free to pick up litter, however.

I really like this entry!  I have grown up SURROUNDED by water and have many relics from beaches.

Beautiful work, and I would love to hang it in my house (or office, if I had one, but as I am perpetually a student that isn't happening for awhile Smiley ).

I love the idea of reusing found pieces.  My favorite is the wood with the hanging piece -- the wood reminds me of a duck. Grin
