Hi everyone! Here's the scoop. I'm getting married August 16, 2008 in an outdoor wedding in southern California. I want to get crafting, but I have to decide on colors first, so I need your opinions!

I really want to go with aqua and red color scheme like this...

(PS - I want these earrings, but alas I am poor)

For reference...

My veil

Bridesmaids - 2 in each style, all in the color "pool"

What do you think about aqua and red for a wedding? Splashes of ivory and black would be thrown in also.

THANKS SO MUCH!

- Jamie

i think they go really well together, its a fun combination.  if you've never spent entirely too much time pouring through snippet and ink looking at color combinations (i never have... honest) you should take a look there.  she has a couple boards that have the combination of aqua and red

here are a few:

board 9
board 135
board 81
board 14

she comes up with some really beautiful inspiration boards

I personally love the color combination.  It's vibrant, fresh and perfect for summer!

Here are some other links that might "seal the deal" for you... Grin

Thank you both for the awesome links! I made my own inspiration board last night and I just added some of the pictures from them. I ask my fiance what he thought about the color combo (he's a web designer and completely into color) and he hated it until I showed him all of these links.

Yea! I can start crafting!

Thank you both!

I love those colors! And the last link (to flickr) from sweets shows it over chocolate brown, which I adore. I think it makes the colors pop even more then black would. You could even have your fiance and the groomsmen wear chocolate brown suits. Yummy!

I really really really want to add chocolate brown to the color mix, but my fiance is refusing to wear a brown suit. The original color scheme was aqua and brown, but it got nixed due to the suits. Bummer.

Do you think black on the men will work ok?

I bought this on ebay today to use to attach my birdcage veil, so that I'll have some of the color scheme on me too.  Smiley

Thanks again!

I'm not convinced that men have to wear suits that are exactly in the color scheme. In fact, we couldn't find chocolate brown suits for my wedding [nothing was black, it was chocolate brown, turquoise and orange] so my husband and his best man wore navy suits with silver-grey shirts.

I agree.  Though, it could look lovely with chocolate brown, I don't think it would look bad at all to choose another color.
