I was asked to create a portrait for Midwest Dachshund Rescue. http://www.mwdr.org/They're having a silent auction this Saturday. I'm really hope the portrait will help them out. I'm kind of nervous about it. Anyway, it's an 8x10. It's pastel on velour. Comments are always appreciated.

Thanks for looking  Grin

Oh my god, That's my baby.
Is the auction going to be an online thing cause I know I'd love to have that.
You even got the expression right (that's the look I get everytime I have to go to work w/o him).

2 more months till little Emmalyn makes her debut. So nervous but just can't wait Smiley

I'm not too sure if they will have an online thing, but I'm sure you could email the group. They're very friendly there and since it's a silent auction, I don't see it being impossible.

It's great to hear from a Doxie owner that I got the expression right! I was kind of worried because I don't know anyone that has one that I could reference!  Grin

You have nothing to be nervous about, it's beautiful  Smiley
Is that chalk pastel? I've never used anything but oil, but I really like the look of this.

Yes, it's done mostly in soft pastels, but I used some hard pastels too for the finer detail. I love drawing on velour paper, it's just awesome for pastels. You can't erase with it though. I usually draft something out on paper first and then transfer it onto the velour with carbon paper.
