just go for it, the lining is pretty easy, just like lining a bag if it is a full lining , which you don't really need. and the crotch lining is simple once you under stand the process.
trust me once you start making them you'll wonder what the fuss was all about. Cheesy

I agree with a prior poster, you don't need a pattern.  Just take one of their underwear to draft the bottom and make a simple halter top for the top piece.  I made my daughter's swim suit last year with some remnants from the fabric store.  I like two pieces because they are easier to get off a potty training 2 year old.  Wink  I'll be making more this year - I got a cute patterned swimsuit fabric again this year.

There is a special swimwear elastic that you can use - it has a more open weave.
