First you take a Hershey's candybar and wrap it in paper.  Paint or use a sharpie to make a cute face and buttons.  Hot glue a scarf and hat onto him.  Thread a bell onto a piece of ribbon and tie around the hat to cinch up the top.  Add a poem to the back of him (I printed them on shipping labels and stuck it on the back) that reads:

A time for secrets, Christmas can be.
Some are so sweet, as you shall see!
Remove my wrapper See what I hide
A Hersheys chocolate surprise inside!

I think I made like 60 of these this year for the classrooms, sunday school kids, brownie troop, dancing class kids...the list kept growing!

the hat is from a rectangle of fleece that I hot glued around his "head" and made sure it had a little cuff folded up (& hot glued) along the bottom edge.  I cut slits along the top of the rectangle to get that fringe and tied it tight with a piece of ribbon and secured a jingle bell on that ribbon too...does that make sense?

That's a very cute idea, it would also work with a knitted version of the hat and scarf.  (If anyone does that, post your pattern!)
