Don't be a soap licker

I bevel my soaps and always keep the beveled pieces and other random bits to "someday" use in confetti soap. I think I'm actually finally gonna make some, and I'm wondering if the best method is to put the shreds in the mold and just pour my new soap over it, or to add the shreds to the pot and mix it up somewhat. I know someone who shreds her messed up batches and stick blends them into a new batch as a form of rebatching, but i want the chunks to be obvious, I think that would grind them up more than I want. I'm worried if I just put them in the mold that I will end up with separation or air bubbles. Any suggestions?

I would fold the beveled bits into the soap after trace, then mold it. Treat it kinda like an additive. I haven't made a confetti soap either, but I also have a rapidly growing pile of soap shreds.

I think that's what I will end up doing! I'll let you know how it goes! I'm going to use my spring rain fragrance and add in a bunch of colored jojoba beads, so i'm thinking it will be kinda fun and crazy looking!

I was just starting my first batch and realized I was low on olive, so I had to run up and get some more. Luckily I live really close to an awesome supplier, they totally don't mind if I call and say, "if I'm there in 10 minutes could I get 2 gallons of this and a gallon of that" without doing a formal order online. I actually usually get my olive at Cash n Carry, but that is a lot further away and I needed a gallon of castor too.

I ended up making a batch of confetti with spring rain fragrance, and I added pink, blue and green jojoba beads, and that was so fun I did another one with pink grapefruit fragrance and used a little neon red pigment to get a nice pink color. I still have tons more shreds to play with!
