Yes, yes. A bit late but I digress~

A few months ago, I searched many stores for hours and could not find a dress for homecoming. Then I decided I could test my sewing skills that I have been developing since I was 5. Well Being that I had tons of fabrics and old clothes I drew up some designs and got very excited. I was going to make a white dress. Unfourtunately I didn't have nearly enough white fabric. Also I found out that satin was something that was basically appropriate for homecoming. Being that I had purchased some sativ baby-doll ill-fitting tops for around 3 dollars some time ago, I figured I would work them into the plan. Still I had little to no white fabric. So I took apart an old bed skirt that luckily for me, despite the black skirted part, the fabric which falls under the mattress was white! So with that barely being enough, and one maternity shirt, and finally a white t-shirt I made my dress.

The baby-doll top had a shirred upper area of which I turned into my dress's waist. Then the remaining fabric was tied with no sewing but clean cuts into a nice green satin bow. The bed skirt was cut into my twirly skirt and the white t-shirt provided the bodice. and voila!

No pose, but my friend snagged some action shots.

Man, I was sewing that thing compeltely last minute. I worked on it when I got home from school, at school in the library during my lunch break and right up until the very last minute before I left. I remember I had my mother sew up a few stitches right before I got into the car to leave. Whew. What a week. Still, at least everyone loved it and was raving about it. Smiley

Oh, it's just kittens.

I want to leave this world the way I came into it:  naked, screaming, and covered in someone else's blood.
