Not just a "shrimp on a barbie" Perth, Western Australia

I didn'tt think I'd finish anything for the challenge but today I was inspired!
At first I wanted to make a white bikini with convict arrows but then realized Greenpeace would be trying to roll me back into the ocean if I wore it, and my dd would probably think I was mad if I asked her to model it.
So my second idea was to paint the bikini.
Here she is.

**** Perth is a bit of a contradiction, its a very new city by European standards, less than 200 years old.
My ancestors where a mix of free settlers and convicts, exported from the UK.
My children are 7th generation Australians, which is not that common.
But on the other hand Australia was populated by the local indigenous peoples, who have lived here since time immeasurable.
I have endevoured to represent both cultures, and things that relate WA to me.
Bush and bush fires, water and the surf, stars of the Southern Hemisphere, Vegemite, to mention a few.****

Lived in Australia for 2 1/2 years in the late 60es  Was so impressed with the beaches.  The sand appeared to be a blue
white.  Your painting brought back many happy memories.

Had forgotten about Vegemite as I recall it had a real bite to it.

Love the painting! Great Job! I was thinking about doing a painting of whale shark up here in Exmouth, but I'm glad I didn't do it because I definitely would have lost to you!

I hope you do the whaleshark painting, I have never seen one, Exmouth being one of the few places in WA I have never spent any time. ( hint hint, Im a really good house guest!)

It was late when I finished lol and I needed both the toast and coffee to sustain me, and yes, vegemite is both salty and bitter, my dad spreads it so thickly ewww. How nice to think that someone in Chile is drinking from the same mug! I feel so windswept and exotic!

I lived a time in the Kimberlies,( far north of Western Australia, sparcely populated) and the beaches there stretch on for mile after glorious empty mile of clean white sand, framed by red hills, and the most surreal blue sky.

Lol, glad your hubby likes it, mine thinks it might look better hung facing the wall, oh well each to his own.
