so this was my first time using a sewing machine or a pattern, and i like that i can actually use what i made!  don't ask me why i decided to use this fabric, i had a ridiculous time trying to sew with it, but that's okay.
the shininess (and the fact that i've been sitting on it) make it look a lot more wrinkly than it is in the photos.

horrendous pic of piping..

i haven't sewed up the bottom yet (i've been putting it off for a long time) but when (if) i do, it probaly won't look so lumpy around the base...

but i'm proud of my first effort! any comments/suggestions for what i can improve next time?  (i'm never using shiny fabric again, for a start)

OMG, i so want to make one of these. The one I have is really old (from the 70s) and is falling apart because all the animals love it too.

I like the fabric. It looks nice. I was told that these type of pillows are called "husbands".

You did an awsome job!!!  I bought a McCall's pattern to make up one last summer but have been too scared to mess up.  It also calls for fiberfill for the arms and I can't find any here...still looking.  You are very brave to make this with this type of fabric.  I think it came out great.  If you want to change something the next time, maybe an applique somewhere.  I think it turned out great!!   It looks nice and cuddlie.  Hope you enjoy it in good health.
