The tut is up, let me know if you have an questions and I would love to see if anyone else makes one or makes improvements to my attempt at a tut. I'm not a huge sewer so if something isn't clear I'll try to clarify for you.

Nice work!  I've been eyeing this bag off for a while and have been too lazy to sit down and figure out how to make it!  And now i don't have to!  Excellent tute by the way, very comprehensive.

here was another I made for the wonderful Huff in the make a friend swap!

It was patio canvas that worked out very nice for this bag

these were both in progress but you can see how it stands up well on it's own with a cotton calico interior and the canvas exterior. I did lengthen the handles a bit on hers because I had the extra fabric. Now I'm in the process of a third for my daughter but i'm going to modify it a bit as she isn't a knitter she just likes the bag.

Oooh that's my bag!  It's the best!  So big! Big enough to fit my knitting as well as my everyday stuff too, but still closes up compact so it's easy to carry!  Here's what's in it right now!

And another I made yesterday for my daughter. She doesn't knit just likes the bag so instead of giving her the needle pocket I inserted a pocket on the front inside as well.

she picked out the material it wasn't my choice. Just a tea stained cotton from Joann's.

has the classc V shape to it when closed

notice no long side pocket on the opening flap but the long one on the back interior I kept for her

then inserted another on the front interior so she has 2 large pockets. I actually like it there as well so may make myself a new one with all 3 pockets!

I guess it depends if you are a speedy sewer or not. I kinda make mine like this.....cut it all out, take a break! Ok go back and insert zippers, take a break! Ok ok I should finish this do elastic separator and sew up interior, you guessed it take a break! Ok fine Ill finish it, sew on handle sew interior to exterior, flip right side out and sew up hole, press and top sew....yay done now I can take a break again!

Doing it that way it takes me a few hours in one day so its hard to say how many of them exactly were spent on each bag. I would guess less than 2 hrs in actual ironing, sewing, measuring, cutting etc. Theres really 3 pieces to the interior lining and 3 to the exterior then what pockets you add where and the manner in which you chose to close them, if you add them at all, depends on you and can be left off and the handles probably the easiest part to put on.
