First Project Post! New Purse (3 Pics)

I love the colors but Im not crazy about the actual purse because it stretches too much when loaded up with junk.    Im not sure if its the stitch I used or if its because I didnt know you are supposed to go through both the front and back loops. Oops.  Oh well, here it is.

it's pretty, but i see your point.  i just started using both loops myself.  i've been crocheting for years, lol.  using only one loop does make it stretchier.

Even though you didn't go through both loops it gives the purse that nice lined look. Acrylic yarn doesn't stretch like other yarns so you might try that in combo with the front loop and see if you can get that same loop without the stretch.

Ditto. Lining a purse is definitely helps the stretching. I'm crazy jealous of your purse. This style (there's a couple diff patterns on lionbrand, not sure where ya got yours) has been on my to do list since last summer. great job!

I think your bag is beautiful. Line it with something that doesn't stretch and then it won't stretch out when you put a bunch of stuff in it.

Thank you everyone for your kind replies! There's a lot of talent on this site and I've been really intimidated to post my stuff, seeing as Im pretty new to it.   Lining it is a good idea but I wouldnt know how to go about it, does anyone know of a tut off hand? And the pattern is from the Lion Brand Site. I dont think the link would work since you have to sign up for it but you can search for it, its called the Easy Crocheted Bag, and its pattern #30107. It really is very easy and it was the first thing Ive ever made from a pattern.
