So I saw a post for shrinky dink rings
here : http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=228409.0
And I just had to try it they were so cute.

So my first time using shrinky dinks and this is what I got:

This one was my first REAL try and didnt come out very good but I decided to add it in just because.

I dont know if anyone's tried this yet though but I can see tiny tiny cracks forming in the plastic of my clear ring, does anyone else have that problem?  Undecided

I outlined with a fine sharpie but the rest is coloured pencil. It gets really bright when you bake it

If you follow the link that I posted I believe theres a tutorial if not I can find it.
Essentially what you want to do is find something in your house thats round and about as wide as you need your ring to me. I used a hilighter. Once youve measured how long you need your shrinky to be, shrink it then after its pulled from the oven [ITS HOT] you need to act quickly and mold it to your round shape. And voila.. shrinky rings

That's a really cute idea! Does the colored pencil or marker rub off when you wear it though? Or did you use some kind of adhesive or coating to cover it

I didnt coat it with anything initially but yeah the coloured pencil rubs out a little so Id suggest coating it with something just to preserve the image.

The cracking is normal and comes from the stress of putting them on/taking them off and just generally being squished. They can break, too. I recommend sanding the edges, helps eliminate some of the drag of moving them.
