I've been exploring what my embroidery machine can do.  (It's over 12 years old, but I've never used it until just recently - was afraid of it when I received it from my mom when she gave me her machines over 6 years ago. ..)

anyways, here's what i've been up to (this is just a few of the embroidered images - my camera has been in for repairs and is supposed to be delivered repaired to me TODAY so i'll add more pics when i can. . .

For reference, I have a Bernina Bernette Deco 500 . ..

using 3 hoop option (combining 3 images)

another large hoop design (3 images combined)
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a212/happyfroggy/embroidery/IMG_2352.jpg

my first attempt at following the large hoop (and i messed up, so i added other images to try to 'fix' what i did. . .lol)

and some regular designs - one hoop setting. . .

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a212/happyfroggy/embroidery/IMG_2277.jpg

my first attempt at putting 2 separate images on the diaper cut . .

and another shot of that same image - but wider view so you can see it on the diaper cut. . .

The alien in the spaceship (fourth image) is perfect!  It's good that you conquered your fear, I can't wait to see more of your embroidery.

Oh, it's just kittens.

I want to leave this world the way I came into it:  naked, screaming, and covered in someone else's blood.

Great embroidery!  I do feel silly - what is a diaper cut?
I think you will become addicted quickly...

i think there are different interpretations of what a diaper cut is.

for me, a diaper cut is literally a diaper pattern cut out of pul, lol and embroidered. . . so now all i gotta do is sew it to the other 'parts' of the diaper. . ..

many consider a diaper cut a piece of fabric about 20"x20" (some smaller, some larger. ..)

these are for cloth diapering. . .we don't do disposables here.  . .

cloth is more fun!  *grin*

lovely work!
the big designs take a lot of effort on a deco, i know i still have mine! you must be a wiz on the pc to position it so carefully.
and i love the monster and truck designs, where did you find them, my boys would love them!
yes post a pic of the finished diaper, look like they will be fitted with elastic, you are good not doing disposables!
keep posting pics!

those are great!  do you have to "seal" them somehow so they do not wick?

Here are the finished dipes:

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=232829.0

and as to how I sealed the embroidery - real easy.  just hoop a scrap piece of pul under the 'real' diaper cut.  then after embroidering, fold over the scrap and stitch around it.  then trim.  much like you do a hidden pocket in a handbag - where you don't stitch the outer fabric, just the inner fabrics. ..

here's a pic of some of the backs of my embroidered diapers after they were stitched . . .
