Well, my friend's mom died of breast cancer last week and I really want to make something for her (I prefer making something rather than buying something since I have lots of materials around the house). I don't specifically want to make anything tributing her mom, I just want to make her a regular bunch of gifts w/ a few things that have to do with her mom. I am thinking about making like a basket or bag (something along that line) of gifts... She is 14, into hip-hop & r&b, wants to be a model, likes candy, magazines, fashion, posters, etc. She's pretty much a regular teenage girl and I'm a total tomboy/girly girl opposite!! *But, we do share the same love in Hip-Hop, Gospel & R&B since she and I sing and we were raised around A LOT of music.
Although I don't have enough money to spare (I didn't get paid yet!! yikes!!), I still want to get my buddy something nice because she was there when my granny died, and she continues to be there for me & believing I can achieve my dreams of becoming an actress & she & my other friend make school a little more fun (lol, laughing with teachers, Facebook 24/7, the usual...).
So if you guys have any ideas, please share 'coz I'm totally spaced!!!

If she likes fashion and magazines you could maybe include some kind of fashion magazines in there for her? Does she sew perhaps, because maybe you could put in some patterns for her then also. You could make her a few mixed cds with some music that you both like on them, get her some candy as she likes it Smiley Maybe if you draw or so you could make her a poster of some sort. I once made for my friend a sort of 'friendship poster' with just like alot of pictures to do with us. Some where really old!

That's all I've got for now though!

I'm sorry for her loss...my mom passed when I was twelve and it sucked to say the very least.

I would make her some type of clothing article to go along with her love for fashion (shirt? skirt? something silly, like socks?), and maybe some jewelry too, maybe a magazine or two, a mix CD of songs that the two of you are into, some makeup (maybe? lip gloss or something?) and maybe some candy (you gotta have candy!). As for things having to do with her mom, maybe you could make a picture frame that she can put a picture of her and her mom in when she feels that she's ready to do that.

You could also include a little note that just says that you're always there for her if she wants to talk to you, and I don't know if this would work for your friend, but a little journal to write her thoughts in...I kept a ton when I was going through that and it really helped me out.

All the best,

IK
