Oh, dear. For a 5 YO's Birthday present -- I asked the kid what his favorite colors were and what his favorite animal was -- he said orange, red, blue, green and (I think) yellow. And scorpion for animal. I had fun making an applique for my DD so I presumed I could do a scorpion too -- WHAT WAS I THINKING? These dudes are complex ... to make matters worse, the adorable turning 5 YO in question looks super duper in stripes. Naturally I had to try making a multi colored scorpion on a multi colored striped shirt. Who knows if he even likes scorpions afterall ... it could be the viral answer of the day on the play ground!

Here goes, wear your sunglasses!

I looked for a fairly simple drawing of a scorpion; drew one inspired by that one but much bigger; cut it out ... got perplexed, used the cut out one to make a stencil and then used wonder under to fuse them to the background, then to the shirt, then machine stitched around all the edges ... might be too stiff after all that ... we'll see!

Aww he's cute. Much cuter than a live scorpion!

And much to my disgust, my hubby's fave colors are orange and blue. Hopefully the kid will grow out of it Roll Eyes

I hate scorpions (saw too many as a young, country girl in Texas), but that is a work of art!  Great job!!
