Apple and Tree believes in the philosophy of re-using before recycling. We make one of a kind pieces using salvaged items as base material and offer authentic vintage fashions.

Ha, I thought my husband and I were the only ones who had a hello Kitty toaster! We got it as a wedding present.

Man, what a difference a pretty new floor can make. I'm proud there are people out there willing to fix their own stuff, not that you should really have to, but in doing so you learn so much. I can't wait to own my own house so I can do whatever I want to it, I'd be a little iffy trying things like that in an apartment though.. it would be so insanely bad if I messed everything up. Kudos to you, and your cute, cute kitty.

Wow, I know this is a fairly old post but I couldn't look at it, and NOT comment on how adorable it is that kitty wanted some PBR!! I wish mine would drink with me, but she only likes the boyfriends white russians!

Also, the floor looks great. I especially love the blue in your cabinets, very nice touch!

Hmmm My bathroom & small hallway has some seriously gross vinyl crap also. How hard was it to pull it up? And how many hours do you think it took you? Smiley

Ohhhh and I have that hello kitty toaster too!!! Smiley
Oh and and let us know what your landlord says about the taking it off your rent! Wink

ripping everything up took... huh, i don't remember. i think an hour, maybe 2 at the most (but that's stretching it). that was by myself, though, so if you have someone help you it might be easier Cheesy also, my vinyl was oldoldold and peeling up in a lot of places, so a lot of it just lifted right up.

oh! i forgot - i mailed my rent that month, with a letter about the floor and pictures of before/after. i did get a very stern voicemail from my landlord the next day about how i should not remodel and take it out of my rent without permission, but he credited me nonetheless. woohoo!

Def. an A for Awesome!
Too bad you couldn't salvage the floor. Your slum lord should be kissin' your booty for the good job! Cheesy
