I made this crocheted bikini for this summer. It was not very difficult and Im proud of the results.

It is cotton thread. And I already tried it to make sure it resists a day on the beach. Wink
It's lined with very thin elastic fabric.

this is a very good idea and it came out great. I always have problems finding bikinis that suit my tastes, so I might try to make one for myself!

I'm glad that you were brave enough to test it. I've been holding off on a similar pattern that I found in a SnB book because I didn't want to end up all soggy.

i actually made a bikini for a friend a while ago... i found this yarn by cascade its called fixation...  it has something like 2% elastic in it 98 % cotton.. it worked wonderfully to keep shape and i used a light lycra lining.
