Oh, darn!  I'm in Mpls so that's a no-go.  Hmmm...maybe I will support the Northstar rail line after all...

Marisa,

Is Big Lake Books the former Carlson Books?

I'd be up for it, but am busy the next several weekends.  Please post more info, I'm very interested.  Also have a few friends who aren't on Craftster that I'd like to possibly bring.

Thanks!!

yep, big lake is the old carlson books, and vintage duluth is right across the street.

it's very laid-back - a lot of people stop by and chat without working on anything, and nobody is like hyper-awesome or competitive or anything.  plus the shop is open, so every once in a while some shoppers will come in.  old guys on their way to/from the casino will stare in through the window.  um, and someone usually ends up ordering food.

i would say at any given time there are a maximum of six people crafting, but they come and go throughout the afternoon so you get to meet plenty of different people.  it would be great if you came by and brought a few friends!  boys are welcome too (and often present).

Sounds very cool.  I may have to stop by and check it out one of these Sundays.  What types of things do most people make?
