So, my friend's baby shower is coming up soon, and I finally finished her gift.  She loves the dia de los muertos skeletons and I happened to run across this fabric on buyfabricsonline.co m (by accident) and this is when I decided to make a blanket for her!  It has flannel on the back and a very thin layer of batting in between... any other suggestions on how to spice it up?  I was thinking those yarn things through the middle of the blanket... it is for a newborn so I probably shouldn't get too fancy...

It's not perfect I know... this is my first project using a sewing machine in years... and my first blanket... and I didn't use a pattern so it's not exact... but it still looks pretty good i think!

Thanks for looking!

Suz

Pretty!  What about embroidering a little skull on the yellow side?

I'm usually not a fan of skulls and such but I freakin' LOVE that fabric! I think the blanket turned out great for being your first project in years. I do agree that if you want to add a little something to it a small skull patch in the corner would work out great.  Grin
