I'm late! I keep forgetting about Fiber Fridays until like.. Wednesday.. and then it's no good, you know?

Anyway, this week, I submit "Mustard Haze," from a Corriedale roving from Three Waters Farm.  I'm obsessed with the mustard colors lately (even though they look terrible on me... *sigh*).  This is the first spinning I've done with the intention of having it be a single.  (It's so much faster this way!)

I'm happy with how it turned out.. so happy, in fact, I forgot where I kept the paper that was measuring yards.  So, I'm going to guess and say 107-ish.  It's just under 2oz.

Everyone's yarns this week, as always, are beautiful!

lapoli- the colors in that are similar to the merino/silk roving I've got on my wheel currently. Mine is blue moon fiber arts' loch ness colorway which has a lot of silver as well as the teal and mustard and brown. I agree, they're wonderful colors!

Hi, it's still friday so here is mine for this week, "bollywood star"

it's alpaca with tons of sari silk, fabric, angelina, sequins and wool cocoons. It practically sings and dances too!
totally Lexi Boeger inspired. I just LOVE her new book.

It's still Friday where I am, and since this is the first Friday where I can contribute, I don't think I can bear to wait another week.

I just started playing around with a drop spindle last month, and this is the first thing I've made that's actually worth anything.  I'm allergic to wool, so while I understand it's supposed to be easier to learn on, I opted for cotton instead.  I just couldn't get into the idea of spinning my heart out on something I couldn't wear.

It's made from hand-dyed cotton balls in royal blue, purple, and teal.  The balls were denser in the middle than I thought, which acted as a dye resist, resulting in the variation within each color.  I Navajo plied it so that it would be self striping (and because Navajo ply is just totally my new favorite) but the color sections came out pretty short so it maybe more like self-splotching.

The skien:
