ooh, thank  you so much for the link. Right now we're working on the curled hill, wire gate, and graveyard but I'll have to start working on the costumes pretty soon! One of our friends is going to be Oogie Boogie...that costume should be fun!

Thanks again! Smiley

my boyfriend and i are going as edward gorey drawings, if we can find the right clothing.  does anyone in the boston area know where the good vintage clothing stores are, specifically 1920's?  (..other than the garment district).
thanks!

I LOVE Edward Gorey! (The Ghastlycrumb Tinys is one of my faves)

What a great idea! You have to take pix and post them for us.

There is a good will thrift store in Cambridge on Massachusettes ave. I don't know the exact address since i have only been there a handful of times, but it's near garment district .  It's about a block or less from a club called the Middle East, and some fetish shop.  Does this help?  Anyway its ULTRA cheap.

beeosh -- those costumes and your daughter are too cute!

one year for halloween i was a blue lego block.

here's how (although i doubt anyone cares to know, haha):

using a small, sturdy box, i cut away a curved portion (think half circle shape) so that the box could fit on top of my head. this also allowed my face to show. i painted the box blue, then let it dry. next i cut six equal pieces from an empty paper towel's cardboard roll, and painted them blue as well. once dry, i glued them to the top of the box.

i also painted my face blue and wore all blue clothing (jeans and a blue turtleneck). lame, but i was a poor college student and i wanted to be something that i hadn't been before. hee.

i think my hubby was a chia man that year ...
