I just flew by the seat of my pants with this one.  I'd mastered my kids seamless sweaters, but as I found out, adults are shaped just a bit differently then kids Wink

here's the finished product, which I'm not sure is actually finished.  I might change the neckline to make it lower, or more open.  I feel kinda like a nun in this Wink

I haven't worn it out of the house yet cuz I'm afraid it looks like a silly homemade shirt and that's not what I'm aiming for Wink

Anyway, here she is:

Yarn is recycled cotton Smiley

And you can see day-by-day progress on my blog here:  http://soulfulhuesknits.blogspot.com/2008/01/watch-me-knit-shirt.html

Thanks for lookign everyone, and if you have any suggestion on how to fix the neck, I'd be MORE then happy to hear them!

I dont have any suggestions but I just want to say I think this looks great!
Not at all like a homemade top, more like something from a specialist boutique, making one offs.
Theres one locally, I cant think of the name right now, but they make organic original peices and this would fit right in there, if you added a huge price tag.
(thats what I think anyhow)

I love that top.  The colors look so pretty on you.  I know you aren't super thrilled with the neckline but maybe you can take out a row or two.

Very cute.  I think that the top would be less "nunlike" if you frogged it an inch and a half, just a leetle lower down on your neck.  I love the colors, and I hope you wear it all the time when spring hits.  This will be perfect!

the neck is where i cast on.  can i frog from the co edge?  the general consensus at ravelry was no, but but i thought it i threw in a lifeline, then cut it of and knit it up.  but that's kinda scary considering all the hours i put into it.  i've been wearing it the last couple days (yes, you read that right Wink ) and i think i may just live with it.

an easy way to make the neckline look bigger at least could be running a dark green (or some other darker color) around the base of the ribbing you had.  It would also be nice to have a similar effect at the empire waistline.  at least i like the ribbons there.

in any case i'm jealous.  now i feel the need to check your blog for inspiration.

love it!  I would leave the neckline on this one, may be make the next one a little lower as suggested.  A ribbon under the bustline would also dress it up.  I want one!

Thanks all.  after wearing it a half dozen times, I am going to just leave it and knit the next one differently.  I'm working on writing up the pattern (I didn't take very good notes Sad ) and will let you all know when it up.
