darn it, i wish i'd put on a wrist strap...any ideas for doing that post-construction?  hmmm.  i also did a line of stitches just below the zipper as the lining was getting caught in it.  wee!

Here is my attempt:



The pictures aren't too good, but it's a bottle green pouch with little white hearts on it. I think it went ok, but I will need to make a few more to improve on the zipper.

I forgot to say, it's lined with white cotton that has little cream swirls on it.

Here's my attempt.  It's also my first attempt at an applique.  It turned out ok.  I love it as a pencil bag.  It was also a great way to use up some scraps I have laying around.  Great tutorial.  I've always wondered how to get zippers into my projects.

WOW, I love it! very easy steps to understand, I was alwayes doing it in other way, but yours is much easier... I will try one now

i made another one...i can't stop!!!  haha.  this one's kinda 80s-ish themed.  you can't see it so well in the pitcture but the pocket's lining is pink "crackly"looking with hearts and squiggles in white and random blotches of purple/teal/orange, and the applique on the front is one of the hearts cut out from that, attached with green thread to match the zipper.  the wrist strap is part of a tie.  the leopard print lining is flannel.  an the outside is an old jeans leg, those sparkly jeans that went out of style as quick as they came into it, haha.

Well this is great for those of you that have a sewing machine.   Mine took me like 3 hours to make but I LOVE IT!!!
