I'd have a heck of a lot less toys, that's for sure!!  He's also built me a picker, numerous turned spindles and niddie-noddies.

for Christmas he gave me a McMorran Balance, a spinner's guage and 8 oz of hemp roving

Cool!  I'm going to make myself a tensioned lazy kate pretty soon.  It will not be as pretty as yours, but I just need the function.  I roamed Home Depot for a bit until I found the parts that I think will work.  It is a good thing that my dad has loads of stuff in the pole barn.

I am aiming for something like this:  http://www.paradisefibers.com/kits/images/nancys/katie.jpg

Very cool, something_wierd!  Please post pictures of it when you're finished.

Pole barns are the best of storage places!  You never know what you'll find in them!
