This is a costume.. I had created for my daughter for ren fair.. but when I was pregnant with my second, I was inspired and decided to paint my belly as a flower to be visited by my fairy girl..  Needless to say.. She thought I was a princess and said I was so very beautiful..   I used acrylic craft paint on the belly and elmer glued the stones on the belly.. and finished with a silver paint pen.. (no contact with the skin as it only touched the paint for emblishment)
My daughters wings were created from  drawing on Tulle netting with hot glue. (on top of aluminium foil.. you could use wax paper as you could draw your pattern on that because the glue will not stick to either). which I then  sprinkled with glitter before drying then.. On the otherside I colored with silver paint pen.. when it was dry..  I  have since sewn on  panty hose for straps..I used a big bow and some flower  sparkle stone stems to decorate the middle of the wings. at the time of creation I had threaded a fancy ribbon and velcro combino to an old t-shirt..   Her skirt was created from ribbon and tulle..
Anyways it was one of my favorite costumes for her to wear about and the wings are still popular..
I am still daysream about creating some adult size one for my self..
I even had a  interesting photo when my camera fogged up at a ren fair.. she was a big hit with the professional fairies Smiley and I got a picture of them wanting to pick her up.. and the photos ended up being very magical..

Lovely-- both the garments and the pictures themselves.  And you should totally make an adult-size one.  I might play fairy-princess, too, actually.  Smiley  It's just so gorgeous.

Wow!  Awesome paint job, and your daughter is the cutest faerie I've ever seen.

Oh, it's just kittens.

I want to leave this world the way I came into it:  naked, screaming, and covered in someone else's blood.

This is rare for me to say (I"m notorious for not liking kids much) but your daughter is absolutely adorable in that fairy costume!  She looks like you plucked her out of a story book and plopped her down beside you.

The flower belly is cute, too.  Keep on rocking, this is so great.

Yes, I may just have to go make myself a fairy costume now and fly around my back yard.  O, the ideas...

I tell my family all the time that all I want to be when I grow up (I'm 22) is a fairy princess and they all laugh. I'm not sure why... Wink  These are adorable costumes though and the bottom picture is gorgeous.  What fun you must have had!

I've been lurking on crafster for some time, but had to sign up so I could tell you how beautiful these pics were! I actually got a little teary eyed at the last one! I'm so looking forward to having a daughter someday, and I hope she looks as beautiful as yours...and that last photo was simply breath-taking. Thanks so much for sharing these!

Wow. Just...wow. I love that last picture with the RenFest fairies trying to pick her up - it really does look magical. Your costume is also very beautiful - I love it when women show off their pregnant bellies instead of trying to hide them. Thank you so much for sharing this. Smiley

Thanks I am glad you are all enjoying the belly and the fairy.. just to add..  I did not sew the her skirt.. I used hot glue. attaching looped tulle (the kind you buy on a bolt for weddings) and ribbon the kid you buy at a craft store.  I aslo just repurposed her old shirt...  painting it with acrylic paints and washing it out a bit... (acrylic stains everything so I purposfully stained it :it with watered down acrylics..).. anyways thought I would add that for the non sewers out there..    Each year I get a bit ore bold with trying to sew.. but mostly A Glue Gun is my weapon of choice...
If you follow my post the will be a time this year whereI will post my Daughter's room... It will be done in a pixie hallow/ peter pan theme..  It's very magical place..  anyways..
