Well I had to look up the Australian aboriginal artwork and Judy Chicago, and I just want to say thanks zenthistle and colorfuldayz for expanding my horizons!  It just goes to show that art is a universal "language".  It was interesting to learn that there is connection of Judy Chicago artwork to Georgia O'Keefe, who is one of my idols.

pjherbert and addictedtoknitting, I would LOVE to get these designs printed onto fabric or worked into a piece of knitting, I'm just not sure how to go about it!

Thanks for the comments everyone!

After just finishing Art History... hehe...

I love how you combined the gothic arch with colors not typically seen used in places where gothic arches are used, and I love the detailing - it *really* reminds me of Arabic type decorations. I just love how you took three elements not typically seen with each other (though it probably exists somewhere that I dont know of though...) and combined them into an amazing series! Cheesy

Any interest in other architecture? Or just that?

I'm all about arches and onion domes and the carpenter gothic cottage.  My husband has built some crenellated arches into the interior of our new england farm house style cottage, which is a real hoot.  At my insistence he incorporated some onion domes into the design of our 4-poster bed, which he constructed as well, and I'll be gold-leafing those in the style of St. Basil's cathedral in Moscow.  If I could figure out how to get that onto the actual house, I would, but that's reaching a bit, even for us. Grin  When I get around to painting again I'll probably do my own version of onion domes.

Shelichan, your comments mean a lot to me - exercise all that great art history knowledge you have!  I would love to study such a topic.

Thanks phizzychick, I really admire your work, it's so fun and vibrant and also contains some familiar elements that keep floating to the surface in my own arts and crafts.  It's very encouraging to get positive feedback from folks like you and colorfuldayz, you are so talented. Smiley  Now I'm off to visit the altered journal-along!

I love these! Great details!! I love intricate stuff like this! How do you get all the little circles so perfect? Do you use paint in a squeezy tube, or are you just really talented with a paintbrush??

Favorite moment of the year?  That commercial when m8888888 dropped her towel and jumped naked into the arms of Tony Danza.

Ha ha, "perfect".. ha ha ha ha ha....!
But seriously. I just use different kinds of brushes and markers.
I laugh because I'm always thinking, "well, it's not perfect but it will do, no one is going to notice".
