So I found some really awesome slides - like, from 1970s slide shows - and couldn't help but pick them up because it just seems like there's gotta be something awesome I could do with them -

Some seem to be personal home photos, others are slide shows about random things like the fat content of foods and lice (weird - I know!), etc.

Any cool ideas about what I could do with these buggers?

I bought a whole bunch of slides, too. I made someone a photo album and glued some on the front.. they could be used in scrapbooks, I think I've seen earrings made out of them.. you could probably make a funky wrist band, too. Tiny boxes?

I'm sure this must have been covered before, but I couldn't find a thread on it.

I have a bunch of old photo slides that I'd really like to put to some creative use. What's something I could make out of them? I'd really like the pictures to be clearly visible, of course.

All I can think of is a lampshade, which I know others have done. I still might do that, but I'd also like to make something smaller and more suitable for mailing to someone as a gift. Any ideas?

Hmmm...the lamp shade idea is fun. I wonder if you were to make some type of flashlight viewfinder wheel to send to friends? I wonder if it would shine on the wall? Maybe make a card out of them. Just some thoughts...
Don't throw away the casings around the slides. they can be used in scrapbooks or cards as frames. If you don't want them I'll take them!! Grin

Well, this isn't small, but you can take the same idea as the lampshade and make a curtain.  They'd look so cool with the sun coming through them.  And if you have a whole bunch, you could make a door curtain.

Awesome! I'm about to receive tons of these from a wonderful friend.

I wonder if you could use these to tile a backsplash, or something?
