Things I've learned:

1) Freezer paper is the best. I got the cleanest lines I've ever had.
2) Tulip brand brushable fabric paint works quite well.

I made the stencil from this image:

...which is young Richie Tenenbaum and his bird, Mordecai, on the inner cover of The Royal Tenenbaums DVD. At the bottom of the DVD cover it says "Go, Mordecai!" which I was thinking of stenciling somewhere on the shirt. Suggestions, anyone? Should I leave it be?

Wow, I don't even watch the royal tenenbaums,  but I love this! The stencil is so clean cut, and the paint looks all velverty and smooth!
You should be selling them.

That rocks my socks.  Could you post the stencil please?  That is one of my all-time favorite movies, and I don't really even know why.  Grin

I love it!  If you were going to stencil "Go, Mordecai!" on it, I would suggest maybe doing it on the back.  The front looks perfect as it is!

This is so beautiful! I loved the movie so much I'm getting a little teary-eyed looking at your shirt. What a great idea for a stencil.

i <3 wes anderson's films... :] Your shirt is awesome! i love it. I think it should say go mordecai on the back, near the bottom, if at all. i agree, the front looks great by itself!

the idea is great.
the stencil is awesome.
the color of the shirt and ink contrast marvelously, and, in my mind, somehow reflect the movie well.
