we are expecting a little boy in may and this is our first. i'm so excited since i've been crafting for friends' little ones in the past year and now i get to make things for my own little one! we are so thrilled and i've been coming up with ideas left and right!! i'll try to document my progress of the nursery in this post...hope you don't mind me sharing with you all!!
okay, so i didn't want an overly masculine baby boy's room, but i also didn't want baby blue all over the place either. it took me FOREVER to decide on the fabrics, but i finally managed to pick out a fun and bright striped pattern and pulled my paint color from there. the paint is more of an aqua green/blue...than just light blue.
here's my progress so far...
hubby did a GREAT job painting. the room's a mess...but it's a start!
the other (empty) side of the room. i will be adding white shelving and artwork...and of course we're still in need of a dresser.
yay! done with the cribskirt. it just lays flat with a box pleat in the center of each side.

as i posted this i realized that there's not much decorating going on just yet....but more of making the individual pieces. i will continue to update with more pictures until the nursery is all done!!

pillow for my swivel rocker (the quilt was purchased from notneutral)
the back of the pillow. the fabrics are crossed over at one of the orange stripes so i can remove it for washing.

overall view as you enter the room
crib wall with shag disney print and small shelf with stuffies! the car's made by me and the wonky bunny on the right was a combination effort randomly made by a friend and i....we were feeling silly while sewing that day.
dresser and swivel chair with 2 shelves over the changing area.
closet wall...the orange painting made by me...along with the bunting.
